Michael Ramsey, DO, MS

Dr. Ramsey (he, him, his) specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children, teens, and young adults. He is interested in assessing both the patient and family dynamics to create a holistic and behavioral approach to Psychiatry. Dr. Ramsey works closely with therapists, counselors, and psychologists to ensure a well-rounded and team approach in the care of patients. He works with schools in creating a comprehensive IEP or 504 plans. In addition, he enjoys the care and management of children, adolescents, and young adults with pervasive developmental disorders, Autism, Autistic Spectrum disorders, Asperger’s, and LGBTQ related issues.

Dr. Ramsey enjoys performing in local musical ensembles and theater. He likes traveling to Alaska, volunteering for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, and exploring the outdoor activities here in Washington. He also spends time doing home restoration and neighborhood improvement.

What is a DO?

If you’re like most people, you’ve been going to physicians ever since you were born and perhaps were not aware whether some or all of them were osteopathic physicians, also known as DOs. You may not even be aware that there are two types of complete physicians in the United States—DOs and MDs. The fact is that both DOs and MDs are fully qualified physicians licensed to prescribe medication and perform surgery.

DOs and MDs are alike in many ways. Students entering both DO and MD medical colleges typically have already completed four-year bachelor’s degrees with an emphasis on scientific courses.
